COVID-19

All the new virus rules in place in NSW

Byron, Ballina, Tweed and Lismore Shires will be subject to the new restrictions. For people’s homes, the new restrictions will mean a cap of 30 people who can visit at any one time. For businesses, the 4sqm rule will be back, which means each person admitted to a venue must have four square metres to themselves. People will also not be allowed to stand up and drink at hospitality venues. There will also be a mask mandate in retail stores and on public transport. People who work in hospitality or as drivers will also have to wear a mask.“The positive news in all of this is we’re not saying to businesses shut your doors, quite the opposite,” NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said at a morning press conference.“We are saying you can keep your doors open but because of the risk that is there, we want you to be extra cautious.”More to come.
