A llama farm has become an unexpected tourist destination outside Minneapolis – a microcosm of how American life has changed over the past 12 months.
Carlson’s Loveable Llamas is a short drive from Minneapolis and when the pandemic hit the owners realised they had a competitive advantage since their entire operation is outdoors.
There was soon a wait list for lonely Minnesotans to come and hug a llama.
Owner Rick Carlson told Sky News, “emails are just skyrocketing and we’re out about two months on weekend visits and probably about two weeks on weekday visits.”
The farm also employs teenagers to help with the tours who haven’t been in a classroom in over a year because of the pandemic.
