Cafe exposed to virus for 10 days among latest venue alerts

A cafe in Sydney’s southwest has been identified as a key venue of concern after staff and customers were potentially exposed to Covid-19 for 10 straight days.It is among a string of cafes, shopping centres, medical centres and bus routes added to the expanding list of sites visited by people carrying the virus in the city.Venue alerts 11pm 17.7.21Most of the new venues of concern are located in the southwest, which has become the epicentre of the virus’ spread through the community, but also stretch into the west, inner west and lower Blue Mountains.Belmore’s The Raw Coffee Bar has been deemed a close contact site after a staff member worked there for 10 days straight between July 7 to 16.Belmore Medical Centre, located on the same street, has also been identified as a key area of concern.Earlier on Saturday health authorities identified a truck stop at an Ampol service station, near Murwillumbah on the state’s far north coast, as a potential exposure site.It includes the truck drivers’ toilets, showers and lounge, as well as the food court.Venue alerts 11pm 16-7-21NSW Health issued an alert on Friday afternoon which outlined a number of new venues of concern including an Ikea which has been flagged as a close contact site.Customers who visited the Marsden Park store on Monday 12 July between noon and 7.30pm or Tuesday, 13 July between noon and 4pm need to get tested and isolate for two weeks regardless.Full list below.Venue alerts 5.30pm 16.7.21Workers at a Greenacre building site have been ordered to get tested and then isolate for 14 days, regardless of the test result, in the latest public health alert from NSW Health.Shops and pharmacies across Sydney have also been added to the venues of concern list.Venues of concern 11pm 15.7.21Dozens of venues across Sydney have been released by NSW Health as locations of concern related to infected Covid cases.
