Premier Steven Marshall said the state remained “on track” to ease restrictions after it was plunged into a seven-day lockdown last Tuesday amid fears the Deltra strain was circulating within the community. Speaking on morning radio on Monday, he hinted SA could expect “positive news” and said there was no “serious escalation” in Covid-19 cases linked to the outbreak overnight. The Premier said he wanted children back at school and the construction and hospitality industries to restart, as a large number of people endured “a huge amount of pain” over the past week.He did not detail how the state would ease the lockdown restrictions but said it would be a gradual process. The state’s transmission committee has also met to determine the path out of lockdown.“We want to return to as much of normality as possible without taking unnecessary risks,” Mr Marshall told ABC Radio.“We won’t be going back to exactly were we were, which was the lowest level of restrictions in the entire country.“In fact, I think that’s some time off now, considering what’s happening in NSW.”Speaking to reporters on the weekend, Mr Marshall dubbed Monday “D-Day” for the state in relation to the harsh stay-at-home direction. Mr Marshall is due to address the media at 11am with chief public health officer Nicola Spurrier and Police Commissioner Grant Stevens. It comes as the public toilets at the Parks Shopping Centre, along Yorktown Rd at Elizabeth Park, was declared a new tier 3 exposure location by SA Health last night. Anyone who was there on Tuesday, July 20, between 9.30am and 11am must immediately get tested on days one, five and 13 and quarantine until they receive their first negative result. There is also updated advice for exposure sites at St Agnes, Surrey Downs, Smithfield, Modbury, Greenacres, and Gawler East. SA recorded three new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, but all were in quarantine. Two of those cases were linked to the Modbury cluster, while the other was a returned traveller.Eighteen cases are linked to the cluster.
