The essential plan is the cheapest option for $5 per month after the free trial ends. Students can save 25% on the essential plan for $3.75 per month. You can also save 16% by paying $50 per year for the essential plan. The essential plan does have ads, so there will be a limited amount of commercials during streaming and live TV. 

One thing to note is that you will not have access to your local CBS station with the essential plan. Subscribers with the essential plan won’t have access to any live programming from local CBS stations, but there is still access to NFL, UEFA Champions League, national news, and Paramount Plus original content. 

The essential plan for Paramount Plus is only available to stream through the app, unlike the premium plan, which can be accessed through Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

Here’s what’s included in the Paramount Plus premium free trial

Premium Monthly Plan (ad-free) (medium)

For $10 per month, you can stream Paramount Plus ad-free with the premium plan. For $100, you can pay for the entire year and save 16%. The premium plan is not only ad-free, it also has local and national news channels, including your local CBS station. The option to download content offline is available to premium subscribers as well. 

Along with access to your local CBS station, you will also be able to watch NCAA basketball, golf, and soccer.  

Another perk to the premium subscription is the ability to access Paramount Plus through Amazon Prime or Apple TV. You can get a 30-day free trial to Prime Video along with the 7-day free trial to Paramount Plus that will be billed through your Amazon Prime account. 

You can access the Paramount Plus channel through Apple TV, but only with the premium plan. The 7-day free trial will start once you use your Apple ID to confirm the subscription which will be billed the $10 per month fee through your Apple account. If you have the essential plan, it will not work through Apple TV
