Instagram is testing vertically scrolling Stories

Instagram is testing a new vertical scroll for Stories in Turkey and Brazil. This will put the touch control in line with Reels and rival TikTok.

Instagram said back in February 2021 that it was working on vertically-scrolling Stories. Up until now, Stories have been horizontally-scrollable.

Now with a vertical scroll, you can go from one user’s Story to another’s, while a horizontal swipe will toggle between different Stories from the same user.
