It does not come as a surprise to know that mobile gaming has come a long, long way. With more and more people gaming on their smartphones and while it has not caught up with full-fledged gaming that you can do on your PC or your consoles, it still is a great experience for a lot of budding gamers. Now, for the longest time, iPhones did not have great support for controllers but with iOS 16 and Apple’s commitment to gaming, that is slowly changing. iOS 16 brought support for a number of Bluetooth controllers including Nintendo’s Joycons, and if you are wondering how to connect Joycons to iPhone, you are at the right place.

Now, if you want to connect Joycons to iPhone, you have to be on iOS 16 because the support is not added on previous versions. Now, I do understand that this might be a bummer, but you can always go ahead and update your phone to the latest version of iOS and you are good to go.

Now, before we begin, you should know that when you connect Joycons to iPhone, you can either go ahead and connect the left one, the right one, or both of them. Whatever the case might be, they will iOS 16 will consider them as a single controller so you do not have to worry about how it is going to turn out.

With that said, let’s get started with the process. Remember, it is fairly easy.

Step 1: On your iPhone, make sure that the Bluetooth is turned on.

Step 2: Now, pick up the Joycon you want to connect to iPhone, and on the inner side, you will see a black button, go ahead and press and hold that button until you see LED light flashing.

Step 3: On your iPhone, go to Bluetooth, and you will see the Joycon listed there. Simply tap it, and the LED will stop flashing and will be static.

Step 4: Repeat the second and third steps for the other Joycon and both of them will now be connected to your iPhone.

That is it, you have successfully managed to connect Joycons to iPhone. Remember, if you have the Pro controller, then the process is the same. The same goes for all other wireless controllers that use Bluetooth as a connection protocol. You can now go ahead and play your games on iPhone using Joycons.
