Five Chinese nationals were recently placed under US Border Patrol custody after they illegally crossed into the United States through Mexico.
Fox News Correspondent Bill Melugin broke the news on Twitter and stated five Chinese nationals crossed illegally into Mission, Texas where they would later turn themselves into Border Patrol authorities.
Melugin would write Border Patrol agents in recent months have seen an “uptick” of Chinese nationals crossing into the US through Mexico.
NEW: Five more Chinese nationals just crossed illegally here in Mission, TX and are now in Border Patrol custody. We have seen an uptick in Chinese showing up, and a Border Patrol contact here in the RGV says they’re seeing an uptick as well. This group turned themselves in. pic.twitter.com/c8hRhp9kjP

A week earlier, the Texas Department of Public Safety apprehended three Chinese nationals after they illegally cross into the United States through the southern border.
The three Chinese nationals reportedly paid human smugglers $35,000 each to help guide them into Mission, Texas.
