A day after Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the U.S. military had to shut down communications and movements last week as the China spy balloon flew over strategic military bases during its week-long flyover of the United States from Alaska to South Carolina before being shot down just offshore, Joe Biden said it was “not a major breach.”
Biden made the comment during an interview with Noticias Telemundo by reporter Julio Vaqueiro taped earlier Thursday in Tampa, Florida.
Julio Vaqueiro: And wasn’t it a major security breach for the United States, just the fact that the balloon came into the airspace?
President Biden: No. pic.twitter.com/xHOHTNUn7P
