Biden Celebrates George Floyd For ‘Unifying’ Races Even as Polling Shows Race Relations Getting Worse in America

President Biden took a moment Thursday to honor George Floyd on the three-year anniversary of his death, celebrating him as a “unifying” factor in race relations in America.

“Today, America mourns the murder of George Floyd three years later,” Biden, or somebody associated with him, tweeted.

“I’ll never forget Gianna Floyd’s words: ‘Daddy changed the world,’” he added, speaking of Floyd’s daughter. “He has – unifying people of every race and generation in peace and with purpose to say: Enough.”

Floyd died in 2020 during an arrest involving excessive force by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, sparking nationwide protests and riots.

Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter and is currently serving over 22 years in prison.

Floyd spent many of his adult years in and out of prison.

Today, America mourns the murder of George Floyd three years later.

Biden Calls For Police Reform On Anniversary of George Floyd’s Death

Ah yes, nothing quite ‘unified’ the country the way George Floyd did, as those Mostly Peaceful protests and their associated burning, looting, and murder were raging across the country.

Saint Floyd, in the minds of Democrats and President Biden, is the new equivalent of Martin Luther King, Jr., you see.

Separately, President Biden issued a statement posted to the White House website explaining how George Floyd’s death cast a spotlight on racist policing in America and called for further reforms.

“George Floyd’s murder exposed for many what Black and Brown communities have long known and experienced — that we must make a whole of society commitment to ensure that our Nation lives up to its founding promise of fair and impartial justice for all under the law,” he said.

“As a Nation, may we ensure that George Floyd’s legacy and the legacy of so many others we also honor every day are not solely about their deaths, but what we do to honor their memory,” added Biden.

Race Relations Have Always Been a Disaster With Biden in the White House

Of course, Biden celebrating George Floyd as a great race unifier seems awfully odd when in reality, recent polling shows race relations getting worse in America.

A Rasmussen poll indicates a plurality of Americans views race relations in that manner. The poll was published in February of this year.

But then, that’s a trend at this point. A Biden in the White House equates to racial tensions and divisions in America.

In May of 2009, mere months into Obama and Biden’s first term, 32% of Americans believed race relations had improved, while only 6% said they had gotten worse. They were relatively unified.

As their second term was winding down, a poll one month prior to the 2016 election showed a majority of Americans believed race relations had worsened under Obama/Biden.

54% said the divide had grown worse, while a very low 16% said it had gotten better. That was a massive 64-point turnaround.

By contrast, a Gallup poll in January 2020 indicated that satisfaction with race relations and the position of minorities in America had significantly increased under President Donald Trump.

That should, in reality, be no surprise. Trump wanted Americans of every skin color to succeed. Democrats only want Democrats to succeed. And that can only happen when they’re promoting division and reverse discrimination.
