Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG developed by Firaxis Games, which combines deep gameplay mechanics with a solid story that will probably keep you glued to the screen for days. The game follows the deeds of The Hunter, a new, customizable superhero specifically conceived for Midnight Suns by Firaxis and Marvel.
The game is full of side activities alongside the main storyline. It gives plenty of options to the players, which can unlock new cards, upgrade their abilities, increase their friendship level with other characters, and much more. Therefore, we have put together five valuable tips and tricks to help you get started with Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
Don’t Be Afraid to Redraw a Card
Marvel’s Midnight Suns allows you to redraw during battles. This option can be a real game-changer, so don’t be afraid to use it. You may think the perfect opportunity to use a specific card will eventually come, but it does not always end as you’d wish. The Redraw feature gives you a chance to get better cards, so you can easily swap a healing card you might have gotten early in the fight for a more helpful one. The card you decide to discard will return to the bottom of your deck, so you will not lose it. Moreover, the Redraw unlocks new combat options for specific heroes, such as Iron Man.
Make Use of Blade’s Chain Attacks
Blade is a great hero to play with and one of the strongest in the game. He can Chain attacks that will hit different enemies or a single foe multiple times. He can also inflict the Bleed status effect with certain cards, and using them together generates excellent combos. For example, with the Make ‘em Bleed card, you can apply 2 Bleed with the following three damage cards you use, creating a devastating effect if combined with Chain attack cards. As you might have already imagined, the Bleed status effect will gradually carve away enemies’ health, damaging them each turn.
Use Environmental Elements at Your Advantage
Marvel’s Midnight Suns lets you use the environmental elements in the battleground at your convenience, dealing additional damage to your enemies. You can use the Knockback effect tied to different cards to do that. Just select a target, and aim in your preferred direction to see potential points of impact. For example, you can quickly eliminate minions and heavily damage more dangerous targets. You need to confirm the direction of the assault and push them toward environmental objects, heroes, or enemies. Moreover, you can use many different items on the battlefield to land environmental attacks that will consume Heroism but do not use a card play. Remember that you can move heroes and reposition them to get the perfect angle for an environmental attack.
Make Friends With Everyone
In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you can choose which heroes will follow you during battle. Many quests, however, have precise requirements that need to be followed, and you will find yourself playing with every hero multiple times. You can raise the level of friendship experience in the game by talking with them and spending time together so that you can unlock new abilities, combos, and other perks that will be extremely useful on the battleground. That said, you should not focus on just one or two of them but instead try to level them up all. This way, you will have an easier time during most combats.
Pet Charlie Daily
You should remember to pet Charlie every day you spend in the game. If you want to make the dog stronger, that’s the only thing you need to do. It may seem easy, but it’s simple to forget to do that daily with the number of recurring tasks you have. Later in the game, you will get the chance to summon Charlie during battles to help you fight the enemies, but you won’t be able to do that if you forget about this creature and don’t give the dog enough attention and cuddles. This animal can be one of your strongest allies, but only if properly leveled up.
This game has many activities to complete alongside the main storyline, so take your time to explore everything in detail. And stay tuned for more Marvel’s Midnight Suns guides coming soon!
