Want to add a shortcut of your choice to the macOS Dock on your Mac? Here’s how you do it, and it’s super easy.
Get to Your Shortcuts as Quickly as Possible by Adding them to the Dock in macOS Running on Your Mac
Shortcuts have been around for a long time and it was only recently Apple brought the feature over to the Mac. It’s the best way to create automations that would otherwise require a lot of taps to achieve. For example, you can have a certain Shortcut to add something to your ‘reading list’ while creating a reminder to catch up to it later – just using a single tap or a click. You even run a Shortcut using Siri. Super duper handy.
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t want to launch the Shortcuts app to run something, or do not wish to call upon Siri, then you should be excited to know that you can add any Shortcut to the Dock in macOS. Today we are going to show you how to do just that.
Tutorial
Step 1. Launch the Shortcuts app on your Mac. You must be running Monterey or higher in order to use the app.
Step 2. Find the Shortcut which you want to add to the Dock.
Step 3. Once found, right click on it.
Step 4. Now click on Add to Dock.
The Shortcut will now appear in the macOS Dock. There’s nothing more to this at all except you can get to your favorite automation or task with a single click, straight from the Dock.
Adding Shortcuts to the Dock is a super easy way to get things done. In a situation where you may find yourself running the same Shortcut over and over again, adding it to the Dock makes perfect sense so that you can get to it without playing software ninja with your keyboard, mouse or voice. A single click is all it takes in order to take care of things.
