AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU Tested In AIDA64 Memory Benchmark, First CPU-z Screenshot Leaked

The first screenshot of AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU and its AIDA64 Cache & Memory benchmark have been leaked.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU Tested: AIDA64 Memory Benchmark With New High-Efficiency Mode & CPU-z Screenshot Leak

First up, we have the CPU-z and AIDA64 CPUID of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU which is the fastest chip within the lineup. The chip was running on the MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk board which as we reported, features out-of-the-box support for Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs and already runs the latest BIOS so users don’t have to update the firmware like the rest of the AM5 motherboards.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU is based on the RPL-B2 stepping and was running at its stock CPU operation.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is the flagship & the first 16-core CPU to feature 3D V-Cache technology. The chip will incorporate a total of 32 threads, a total of 144 MB cache (64 MB CCD, 64 MB V-Cache + 16 MB L2), and a TDP of 120W. As for the clocks, the chip is rated at a base clock of 4.2 GHz which is 300 MHz slower than the standard 7950X but boost clocks are rated at the same 5.7 GHz. This should give us a hint at why the TDP is 50W lower versus the Non-3D part.

We also have some new and exclusive performance figures of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU within the AIDA64 Cache & Memory benchmark using the High-Efficiency mode that’s enabled using the latest MSI AGESA 1.0.0.5c BIOS firmware. The High-Efficiency Mode allows for tighter timings and better DDR5 memory performance. Using this mode, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is delivering up to a 17% boost in bandwidth while reducing the latency by 10%. Following are the performance figures between Stock, EXPO, and EXPO (With High-Efficiency Mode enabled):

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU AIDA64 High-Efficiency Mode Test:

AIDA64Stock (DDR5-4800)DDR5-6000 36-38-38-80DDR5-6000 36-38-38-80 (High Efficiency Mode)
Read (MB/s)615237589087021
Write (MB/s)643657781991104
Copy (MB/s)569226886977087
Latency (ns)8368.962.2

The new performance mode really seems to offer much higher bandwidth and also improves the latency which should be beneficial for faster gaming performance. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D are going to launch later this month on the 28th for prices of $699 US and $599 US, respectively.
