AMD’s upcoming and much-awaited 3D V-Cache CPU, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, has started appearing in online benchmarks as its launch gets closer.
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, The Most Hottest 3D V-Cache CPU, Is Now Showing Up In Benchmarks As We Get Closer To The Launch
We are almost to the release of AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and as we gain more ground towards release, more information becomes leaked online. Well-known Twitter leaker momomo_us unearthed SiSoftware benchmark results that feature the new processor in its wake. While this is fortunate and unfortunate for companies trying to keep information from leaking to the media and consumers, it is fueling some AMD enthusiasts to analyze the results further to develop well-thought-out estimations.
The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU will be the company’s third & latest entry in the Zen 4 3D V-Cache lineup. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is going to be the true successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which has been a hot gaming chip ever since it launched in retail. This CPU is going to be the ideal choice for gamers with 8 cores, 16 threads, and the same 104 MB of cache (32 MB CCD, 64 MB V-Cache + 8 MB L2). The CPU comes with a base clock of around 4 GHz which could end up at least 500 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz which is 400 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X.
The reason for the uniqueness of this AMD CPU is its design and the insane gaming value that comes with it. Unlike the other processors released in the 3d V-Cache series, AMD used just one chiplet to place an additional 3D V-Cache layer upon it. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D (utilizing a dual chiplet design) cause both processors to be unbalanced as they switch between a non-V-Cache and V-Cache CCD, depending on the load, which is where AMD’s algorithm comes in.
It will choose between frequency or cache and focus on it so that the management of resources is better optimized. The new AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU does not need this extra management from the software due to its more straightforward design.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is also much more affordable than its other brethren in the 3D V-Cache Zen 4 series at the time of writing. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D sells on the company’s official website for $699, while the 7900X3D sells for $549. Retailers like Amazon are selling for much higher, but the anticipated price point for the new Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be $449.
The image above shows that the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D scored 395.07 GOPS (Giga Operations Per Second). This is a 37% increase over its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which means that users can enjoy much faster gaming performance that competes or sits ahead of the Core i9-13900K and that do at higher multi-threading performance than the previous gen.
Another notable result in the SiSoftware leak is the Maximum speed of 5.05 GHz, slightly above what we have seen in previous information. The processor is known to not allow for overclocking, so the added increase is speculated to come from Precision Boost Overdrive which the AMD CPUs support.
April 6th is the official launch date for the new AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, and it should be available on AMD’s website and retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and more.
