Van Den Akker, who has modelled for David Jones and Myer and was the face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, shared happy images from her special day in the Upper Yarra Valley with the Herald Sun.She was flanked by her two children Layla and Leo and families.The couple are expecting a child in October.“It was truly the best day of our lives,” Van Den Akker said.“We chose to have a private intimate wedding with only our family and children. There was a different feel and such beautiful vulnerability of emotions on the day. Beyond happy.”A former contestant on Australia’s Top Model, Van Den Akker, who also created an activewear brand, wore a dress by Mariana Hardwick with hair by Dee from Wieselmann.Van Den Akker and Decker became engaged in April as her children, from a previous relationship, were by their side.She received congratulations from the likes of Emma Hawkins, Silvana Philippoussis, Jelena Dokic and Lorinska Merrington.In February she started a GoFundMe page while opening up about her three-year battle while raising her children.She said the money was to help with her ongoing legal battles, saying she felt broken and worthless as she struggled to provide for her family.With the money raised she also said she wanted to write a book to help others in challenging situations.
