NSW sees big drop in Covid cases

Premier Dominic Perrottet said on Friday the state’s response to the Omicron wave has been better than expected with lower ICU numbers.Of the confirmed cases, 2385 cases came from PCR tests while 4301 were detected from rapid antigen kits.On Saturday, the state recorded 8183 new Covid-19 cases and 32 deaths.Earlier this week, hospital visiting guidelines had been changed to allow family members of terminally ill people to see their loved ones before they die.It came after weeks of pressure on the government and Mr Perrottet conceding there had been “many heartbreaking stories” over hospital restrictions.More to come.
