Margot Robbie’s classy return to Neighbours

Robbie filmed the zoom appearance sometime after the show finished shooting on June 10. In a classy move she sent champagne to the set for the cast and crew to toast the legacy of the show that afternoon.Post-production on the historic 90 minute finale episode continued until mid-July allowing Robbie’s contribution to make the cut.Neighbours was the show that stamped Robbie as a star in the making. She played Donna Freeman for three years on the soap from 2008 – 2011.Robbie has gone on to much bigger things following Neighbours.A report released by Variety last week claimed Robbie was being paid $12.5 million for playing Barbie in the new film which would make her Hollywood’s highest paid actress.Delta Goodrem, Jesse Spencer, Kym Valentine and Carla Bonner will all make appearances in the much anticipated episode.Goodrem arrived on Ramsay Street in 2002 as the shy student, Nina Tucker, and went on to a huge singing career after launching her debut album, Innocent Eyes, during her time on Neighbours.Jesse Spencer, who played Billy Kennedy, went onto success in the US post Neighbours with roles on Chicago Fire, House M.D. and Chicago P.D. Kym Valentine makes a welcome return as the much loved Libby Kennedy while Carla Bonner joins the farewell as the free-spirited Steph Scully.All up 49 former cast members have returned to say goodbye to the show.Neighbours executive producer Jason Herbison said it was humbling to have so many big names return to the show.“We are beyond excited and feel very humbled that so many of the show’s favourite characters throughout the decades are here with us celebrating, and there are more surprises to come on the final night.”The final episode of Neighbours will air on Channel 10 on Thursday (July 28) at 7.30pm.
