Disney has now announced Mulan will be available to stream on Disney+ from Dec. 4 at no extra cost. It’s a far cry from the theatrical release many fans had been anticipating at the start of the year.
Plans to release Mulan in theatres were thoroughly thwarted by the coronavirus pandemic in March, with the highly anticipated live-action film delayed just weeks before its scheduled release. Disney announced several hopeful changes of date in the following months, but eventually scrapped Mulan‘s theatrical release in favour of a Sept. 4 premiere on streaming service Disney+.
However, to watch Mulan in September, viewers will have to pay $29.99 for Premier Access — an additional charge on top of their Disney+ subscription.
