With its utilitarian design focus and use of upcycling, Loewe’s new Eye/Loewe/Nature offering brings together some very key concepts for 2020: being sustainably-minded and ready for anything.

“The Loewe man, in my vision, is an escapist just as much as he is practical: someone who loves adventures, of any kind, and has a fondness for the great outdoors,” creative director Jonathan Anderson said in a statement about the collection, which launched today. “These two elements come together in [this] collection of technical essentials designed to dive in to nature, as the name itself suggests.”

Within the selection you’ll find parkas, patchwork shirting and trousers, as well as accessories like a convertible backpack made by reusing fabric from old camouflage jackets, a detachable drink cozy, toques, gloves and a rugged take on an athleisure sneaker.

Bolstering Loewe’s reputation as a highly craft-centric luxury label, materials featured in the collection range from upcycled cotton to knits crafted with recycled plastic bottles, with cold weather items incorporating Gore-Tex for the seasonal dip in temperature.

Also of note is Loewe’s use of proceeds from sales of the collection’s items; 15 euros from each piece sold will go to environmental causes.
