Amazon Holiday Dash 4x3

Without skipping a beat, Amazon launched its Holiday Dash event mere days after Prime Day, which promises “Black Friday-worthy deals” through Thursday, November 19.

This year, several retailers are expanding Black Friday to fill all of November and it’s a great thing for shoppers. If you’re worried about shipping delays, you can start shopping earlier and get your holiday gifts delivered sooner. Instead of one weekend of deals, shoppers peruse a daily selection of markdowns at their leisure.

Of course, not every “deal” is necessarily a bargain. As we do every year, we’ll vet, compare and hone in on the best deals for our readers during this event — and subsequently, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about Amazon’s Holiday Dash event, including the best deals available right now.

What is Amazon’s Holiday Dash event?

Think of Amazon’s Holiday Dash event like Prime Day — but for an entire month ahead of Black Friday. During Amazon’s Holiday Dash, there are two types of sales to pay attention to: daily deals and weeklong sales.

Shoppers can find both types of deals in the “Holiday Deals” section found near the top (right under the search toolbar) of Amazon’s home page. The daily deals function much like the Gold Boxes; they stick around for a day, have limited stock, and revolve around a brand or category of products.

Unlike daily deals, the weeklong sales don’t have a convenient label. These sales are on bigger-ticket items, like LG TVs and Canon cameras, or Amazon-branded goods. There are a few ways to tell if you see a weeklong sale. If you see “Up to 30% off,” “Save up to,” or “Save on” in the title of the deal, it’s likely a weeklong deal.

Amazon’s Holiday Dash ends November 19, or a week before Black Friday.

Shouldn’t I wait until Black Friday to start shopping?

There are two major reasons to start shopping now: shipping and a bigger return window. Shipping delays and stock shortages have plagued this year. The deluge of holiday gift orders will likely exacerbate that.

So, it’s smart to start shopping ahead to beat the holiday rush. Better still, you’re protected.

Amazon, like many other retailers, is extending return windows during the shopping season. Amazon says that most items shipped now can be returned through January 31, 2021.

This means you can pull the trigger on something you want now, without any buyer’s remorse. Consider that if you find a better deal during Black Friday — you’re encouraged to send the product back. Make sure to keep the packaging and create the order with a better price before starting the return process.

What deals will I find during Amazon’s Holiday Dash event?

Shoppers can expect big markdowns on thousands of products, including Amazon-brand products, toys and games, fashion, smart home, electronics, and more. Noteworthy brands you’ll find during this sale include Funko, Lacoste, Le Creuset, Shark, Eufy, Samsung, KitchenAid, and more.

If you shopped during Prime Day, you’ll likely see a lot of overlap.

How can I make the most out of the sale?

Like any Amazon sale, shoppers subscribed to Amazon Prime will get the most out of it. Signing up is easy, and a membership comes with many more benefits than just free two-day shipping. New members can sign up for a free 30-day trial with full benefits through most of the sales event.

Already a Prime member? You should also strongly consider applying for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature credit card — for the 5% cash back on all Amazon purchases and a $100 gift card.

Prime members can also get a bonus $10 credit by refilling their account with a $100 gift card with Amazon Reload.

We’ll be updating this page daily to make sure you have all the best info to shop during this length of this event.
