Beyoncé is teaming up with Peloton.
On Tuesday, Peloton announced it’s working with the award-winning singer as part of a multi-year partnership. To start, the two are debuting themed workouts around Homecoming, a fall celebration at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) throughout the country.
With the coronavirus pandemic moving the celebration online, these workouts are a way to tie in classic aspects of the event with workout routines.
Categories for the workouts include indoor cycling, yoga, and more, and some don’t require Peloton equipment.
Peloton said Beyoncé is their most-requested artist on the platform.
Peloton will also be giving two-year digital memberships to any student at 10 participating HBCUs during the month of November. Students can see the full list of participating HBCUs here.
The company said it hopes the partnership will allow it to deepen its recruitment efforts at HBCUs for both intern and undergraduate job opportunities.
“Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “I’m proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens.”
These workouts are just the launch of the partnership, so expect more news about the collaboration in the future. Peloton said it plans on working with Beyoncé to “provide an engaging and motivating experience for its members and leverage its products, platform and expertise to positively impact people’s health and well-being.”
“Beyoncé’s commitment to empowerment and artistic expression is an inspiration to the entire Peloton community,” Peloton’s Head of Music Gwen Bethel Riley said in a press release. “It is a privilege to be able to work closely with her and her extraordinary team to broaden access to our platform and collaborate on incredible offerings we think our Members will love.”
This is the first partnership of its kind for Peloton. Last month, the company partnered with Chase Sapphire card holders to provide credits that can be used to pay for a membership.
Those looking to try the workouts can access them via the Peloton app.
