McGuire will helm three Who Wants To Be A Millionaire celebrity specials that will be filmed in early January at Melbourne’s Docklands studios and will screen in January and February in the lead up to the Australian Open.McGuire’s weekday quiz Millionaire Hot Seat will continue without change.When signing off from his Triple M Hot Breakfast radio show in December, McGuire said he was looking forward to a quiet summer.It has not quite panned out that way with the experienced host called in at late notice to co-host Carols By Candlelight with Livinia Nixon after David Campbell was unable to travel to Melbourne from Sydney.
He will now be back in the studio for the Millionaire specials.McGuire did an excellent job hosting Carols By Candlelight – despite what Twitter grinches posted – exuding genuine joy and emotion.No disrespect to previous hosts, but it was very nice to see two Melburnians host a very special, traditional Melbourne event.McGuire also showed his affection for Collingwood on the evening, leaving the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with a Collingwood kit bag slung over his shoulder.
