Urgent COVID warning for 11 venues

No new locally acquired cases were recorded overnight, but two cases were diagnosed in returned travellers, with a third case flagged after 8pm.The source of the infection for the third overseas-acquired case has put the Wollongong area on high alert after health officials said the person had been tested on day 16 as part of a beefed-up follow-up protocol for people returning from overseas.Officials said the person was not showing any symptoms and had low levels of infection, having recorded two negative tests during their 14 days in hotel quarantine.

A statement said the person’s household contacts had so far returned negative results and their close contacts had already been identified and were in self-isolation.The statement said investigations so far suggested the person was infected overseas, and there was no indication at this stage of transmission in hotel quarantine.NSW Health has asked anyone who visited the following venues at the times listed to get tested and self-isolate until they receive further advice:* Headlands Hotel, Headland Ave and Yuruga Street, Austinmer – Tuesday, February 2, 1pm-3pm* Bulli Beach Cafe, 68 Trinity Row, Bulli – Saturday, February 6, 1.30pm-4pmPeople who attended the following venues at the times listed are considered casual contacts, and NSW Health says they must get tested immediately and self-isolate until they get a negative result.
