TMZ is reporting that Kardashian will keep the couple’s 15,000-square-foot Southern California mega-mansion, purchased in 2014, as part of the divorce settlement. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and West paid $US20 million ($A25 million) for the Hidden Hills property, then spent a further $20 million ($A25 million) on a massive renovation that West oversaw, Page Six reported. Last month, it was revealed that the A-list couple were divorcing after six years of marriage though neither has publicly commented on the break-up. Kardashian, 40, hired divorce lawyer to the stars Laura Wasser, who has previously represented Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears.TMZ noted the decision over their home allows their four children — North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1 — to continue living in the only home they’ve ever known. West, 43, has spent most of his time in Wyoming in recent years, after buying a 9,000-acre ranch in 2019. It’s not clear where he’ll permanently reside following the divorce, which is reportedly amicable.Kardashian is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the children.Located in the Santa Monica Mountains north of Los Angeles, Kardashian and West’s Alex Vervoordt-designed home was the subject of a cover story in Architectural Digest in March 2020.It was known for its stark minimalist design, including a bizarre flat kitchen sink, which went viral on Instagram.“We didn’t talk about decoration but a kind of philosophy about how we live now and how we will live in the future,” Vervoordt told the magazine.The couple dubbed “Kimye” tied the knot in 2014. After much speculation, TMZ confirmed Kardashian had filed for divorce and that the split was “amicable as a divorce can be”.The former couple, who are worth a combined $2.7 billion, are said to be “far along” into negotiations for a settlement agreement over their $118 million property portfolio.“It’s a tough decision for her and she’s figuring it out,” a source told E! of where Kardashian stands on the matter.“They haven’t spent time together as a married couple in months.”“They’ve seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately,” the source added. “Kim knows the marriage is over.
