It comes as Victoria has recorded no new coronavirus cases for a seventh consecutive day.A total of 19,846 tests were returned.Victoria’s vaccine rollout is ramping up with the first shipment of AstraZeneca due to complement the Pfizer jabs.Health Minister Martin Foley said the state government’s effort to vaccinate frontline workers and other key groups was tracking well.“I’m confident we will continue to meet all of the goals that the commonwealth has provided,” Mr Foley said. A Therapeutic Goods Administration report found of the 33,702 doses administered nationwide in the first week, 79 adverse reactions were reported, but only two in Victoria. The most common reactions were feeling faint, headache, nausea and sweating.Victoria’s chief health officer has declared he hopes to have the AstraZeneca jab. Brett Sutton said: “The Pfizer vaccine and the AstraZeneca vaccine are both excellent.“Personally I hope I get the AZ. Why? Because there’s a lot of commentary about both vaccines and AZ is being framed as the ‘poorer cousin’. “But they’re both highly protective, safe and here already.“So whatever I get, I’ll be confident that it protects me, my family and community.”
