Bad news for anyone who still wants the iMac Pro desktop computer Apple launched way back in 2017: Its days are numbered.
Apple is discontinuing the formerly build-to-order desktop behemoth, 9to5Mac reported. You can still get the default model with no extra bells or whistles for $5,000 as long as supplies last, but after that, it’s into the great digital beyond for the iMac Pro.
There are plenty of very sensible reasons for Apple to make this move. It’s been four years (yes, 2017 was four years ago) since the iMac Pro hit the scene, and high-end workstations like this are more useful the newer they are. Read more…
