The British Royal Family has done more for people of color than anyone “in history,” former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has said, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accused members of the royal family of making racist comments.
“The queen and the royal family have spent the last 70 years touring around the commonwealth. The vast majority of those people are black and Asian,” Farage told Newsmax’s Greg Kelly on Wednesday.

Farage carved out a media profile in the US as a supporter of former President Donald Trump and is widely credited in the UK as one of the driving forces behind Britain’s 2016 vote on EU membership.
He was speaking after Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was watched by an average of 17.4 million people in the US.
During the interview, the couple said a member of his family had raised “concerns” about the skin tone of their unborn child.
“In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, we have in tandem the conversation of he won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan told Winfrey.
The couple declined to say which member of the royal family had raised the concerns but the allegation is already proving damaging to the monarchy’s reputation.
Buckingham Palace released a short statement after the interview was broadcast saying that the allegations raised in by the couple were “concerning” and would be dealt with privately.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
