Now in their third incarnation since forming in Sydney in 1991, The Wiggles clearly still have it when they take to the stage – in all their colourful glory including a giant, squishy backdrop – for the first stop on their We’re All Fruit Salad Tour! at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.“I met a lady earlier who took her children to our concert 30 years ago and now she’s here with her grandchildren,” founding member, Blue Wiggle Anthony Field tells the audience.Fans of all ages are delighted to see their favourite Wiggles and the Wiggly Friends – Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus and Shirley Shawn the Unicorn.Highly engaging and entertaining for children and adults alike, Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and Emma Watkins performed an energetic set with all the hits: Rock-A-Bye Your Bear, Apples and Bananas, Hot Potato and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, which the group noted was an Adelaide favourite. Their latest single, We’re All Fruit Salad, was also in there. Released earlier this year and written to mark the group’s 30th anniversary, its message of celebrating diversity and living in harmony struck a chord with their more mature fans.As a treat for the parents and groovy grandparents, The Wiggles offered a rendition of Tame Impala’s Elephant, which they recently covered for Triple J’s Like a Version – also throwing in the odd joke just for adults, stifling their own laughter.
