Why Dane Swan was no-show on radio

The premiership star said he was “hanging on by a thread” after KIIS FM breakfast hosts Jase and PJ finally got onto him at eight minutes to 9am. Swan was due at the studio 20 minutes prior and in the end tried to claim he’d set his alarm for PM instead of AM after ending up at the South Melbourne pub he part-owns.“There was 85,000 there (at the MCG) and it was very hard to get a taxi,’’ he said.“I stayed where I was in the Sportsbet box for another hour and then I actually made my way to the Albion. “That’s a big trap for me. I can’t just go there for one, which (my partner) Taylor keeps telling me … and once again she’s been proven right.“I’m hanging on by a thread. It wasn’t long before this phone call to be honest (that I woke up). I set my alarm for PM instead of AM.”Swan, who became a dad to son Tate in February, said he ended up in the spare room.“I’m in the spare room so that’s not well,” he said. “She’s (Taylor) going to be pumped, looking forward to going in the main room. You don’t work til 12pm do you, I’m happy to come in?“Obviously it’s an incredible day, I got a bit carried away. Anzac Day without the finals is clearly the biggest day on the AFL calendar.”Swan even asked the hosts what day it was.PJ chipped in “you’re grounded” while Jase concluded: “You know the good thing about having him on this show, he makes me look like a saint.”
