Collingwood champion Dane Swan called for those in charge to stand down. Brownlow Medallist Swan says the people in charge “continually fail us”.In a series of tweets he wrote:“I’ve no idea bout politics or the left & right, I guess I’d be somewhere in the middle like most rational people but how anyone could vote for the people currently in charge of Victoria again beggars belief. How they manage to continually f— (non fun kind) Victorians is incredible.“And it’s not because they are extending lockdown it’s cause we are back here once again. Every other state seems to have it under control but our leaders are so incompetent they continually fail us. They should all stand aside and give someone else a go.“@DanielAndrewsMP @JamesMerlinoMP @MartinFoleyMP @VictorianCHO and the rest of their band of merry men need to give someone else a go cause what they are doing is clearly not working.”Swan posted a picture of his partner Taylor Wilson and their son Tate, with the location on Instagram listed as Pentridge Prison D Division. “Out for our 2 hours of yard time for the day.”Rachel Holland, who created the Free Melbourne T-shirt movement last year, has been swamped with inquiries. Holland, who works in property and business, said: “Last year the Free Melbourne movement was an initiative to make the government aware of the impact lockdown was having on the mental health of Victorians.“The Andrews Government has failed Victorians again and with that comes a heavy toll on all Victorians, their mental health and Victorian businesses which has caused many people to reach out to me bring to back the Free Melbourne T-shirts.”Holland’s T-shirts were backed last year by the likes of Rebecca Judd, Dave Hughes, Karen from Brighton, Peta Credlin, Chris Lucas, Suzy Eskander, Ann Peacock and Nina O’Brien. She sold over $30,000 worth of T-shirts, with all funds going to Beyond Blue.Hospitality leaders Bruce and Chyka Keebaugh, of The Big Group, have warned of a raft of issues for workers and their mental health, saying “the same horrific mistakes” keep happening.TV legend Sam Newman has questioned the absence of Premier Daniel Andrews, saying: “It is amazing that no one has tracked down where the Premier is … could they get their own house in order before we try and bail them out for their ineptness.”Swan, who part-owns the Albion, tattoo shop, clothing label Balla Apparel and has a podcast called Hump Day with Swanny and Friends, said he found it amusing people telling him to stay out of politics and labelled those “a bunch of cry babies” who lean heavily to a side and refuse to budge on a point of view.He wrote on Twitter: “It’s also quite amusing that cause I’m not an expert in Australian politics people here tell me I’m not allowed to tweet about it. That’s like me saying everyone on here who has never played a game of AFL isn’t allowed to tweet about AFL. I refuse to stick to my lane.”
