The Apple Pencil is one of the best styluses you can get for your iPad. No matter which version you have, the Pencil is easy to store and use.
However, since it’s all wireless, it’s not immediately obvious what you’ll need to do to connect the Apple Pencil with your iPad.
Fortunately, pairing only takes a moment. Here’s how to connect any Apple Pencil with your iPad.
How to connect an Apple Pencil to your iPad
All you need to do to connect your Apple Pencil to an iPad is charge the Apple Pencil with that iPad.
If you have a first-generation Apple Pencil, unscrew the cap on the back of the Pencil and plug it into your iPad’s charging port. Unlock your iPad, and tap the Pair button that appears.
If you have a second-generation Apple Pencil, latch the Pencil onto the magnetic connector on your iPad’s side. If it asks you if you want to pair it, tap Pair.
Your Apple Pencil will stay paired until you restart the iPad, turn on Airplane Mode, or connect it to another iPad.
