The Sun reports that the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, was asked if she had a message for her new niece as she visited a school in Cornwall for the G7 summit.“I wish her all the very best, I can’t wait to meet her.”Kate added: “We haven’t met her yet but hopefully that will be soon”.The royal also confirmed she hasn’t Facetimed with her niece yet after Harry and Meghan had a videochat with the Queen. After returning home from the hospital, the “excited” couple are said to have introduced Lilibet to her namesake.Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 11.40am at a Santa Barbara hospital on Friday.Prince William and Kate both expressed their “delight” at the happy news after it was announced on Sunday. But it comes amid royal tensions – with the family barely seeing Harry and Meghan’s first child Archie since he was born in May 2019.Sources have also said Palace officials were left out of the loop after Lili’s birth – and only found out at 5pm along with the rest of the world.A sensational war of words also erupted between Harry and Meghan, the Palace and the BBC this week over her name. The row was started when a Palace source told the BBC the Sussexes “never asked” Her Majesty about using her childhood nickname.Harry then hit back just 90 minutes later saying his grandmother was “supportive” of his choice of name and the couple wouldn’t have used it if this wasn’t the case. The battle has now intensified after Harry and Meghan threatened the BBC with legal action through law firm Schillings.Kate’s comment came as she met Jill Biden – a close friend of Harry’s – at a school in Cornwall today. They spoke with children to highlight the issue of early years development. They also taught the students about landmarks in the G7 – including Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Sussex, 36, has been close to Dr Biden, 70, after the pair struck up a sweet friendship following his tour of the US in 2013. Harry and Dr Biden first met at a reception for British and US wounded warriors in Washington, when Joe was serving as Barack Obama’s Vice President. Since then, the pair have met up on a number of occasions, with Dr Biden even coming over to London to support the royal’s Invictus Games and they are regularly seen joking together.Royal author Angela Levin said: “The couple got on brilliantly despite the 33-year age gap, so much so that then-Vice President Joe Biden admitted: ‘She spent too much damn time with Prince Harry.’”The pair are understood to have bonded over their military ties – with Dr Biden’s stepson Beau, a former army major, tragically passing away in 2015 from brain cancer. This article originally appeared in The Sun and is republished here with permission
