The former Sydney premiership captain, who became known as Big Bad bustling Barry Hall, made his pro debut in 2019 in a drawn fight against former league star Paul Gallen. He didn’t reveal details of his next opponents, other than to say it’s someone with a sports background, and said former boxing champion would be promoting them.“I signed an agreement yesterday,’’ Hall told the You Cannot Be Serious podcast with Sam Newman, Don Scott and Rod Law.“Two fights in August and October. I can’t say at this stage (against who) because they want to launch it and those sort of things.”Hall couldn’t fight again last year due to Covid but has been training on the Gold Coast where he lives with partner Lauren Brant and their two young sons.“She hates it, she doesn’t like it at all,’’ Hall said.“I’m angry enough as it is. She doesn’t like it at all and doesn’t want the boys to watch it which is fair enough.”Hall, who played 289 games with St Kilda, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs, said he would always feel attached to the Swans.“When I retired, I said I was forever thankful to the Western Bulldogs and I still am, because they gave me an opportunity to almost right my wrongs,’’ he said.“Last game I played at Sydney I got reported and then eventually got sacked and that’s fair enough. I’ve had a bit of a bee in my bonnet about that but …when you sit back and some of the stuff that I did at Sydney was a real achievement and I’ve got two little boys now and they’re going to be asking about football soon. “And they’ll probably be asking who did you play for and the first club I’ll say was Sydney, I was a premiership captain. I’m emotionally invested in Sydney, I follow them a little bit now.”
