Utah GOP Sen. Mitt Romney said former President Donald Trump’s rallies are similar to professional wrestling in that they’re entertaining but fake.

“Here in the US, there’s a growing recognition that this is a bit like WWF. That it’s entertaining, but it’s not real. And I know people want to say, yeah, they believe in the ‘Big Lie’ in some cases, but I think people recognize that it’s a lot of show, and bombast. But it’s going nowhere. The election is over. It was fair … let’s move on,” Romney told CNN‘s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union on Sunday.

Trump held his first rally since leaving office on Saturday in Ohio, where he repeatedly made false claims about the results of the 2020 Presidential elections. Trump also expressed his grievances with President Joe Biden’s administration and took hits at GOP members who voted to impeach him.

Romney, who is a frequent a critic of the former president, was the only Republican senator who voted to convict Trump in his first impeachment trial, and one of only nine Republicans who voted to convict him in the second impeachment trial.
