The Summitcare aged care home in Bulkham Hills is in “full lockdown” after three residents tested positive to Covid-19.All three were fully vaccinated and none are showing symptoms. Two of the three cases have been transferred to Westmead hospital as “a precautionary measure for their safety and wellbeing, and that of the other residents and staff”.A spokesman said the three positive cases “are showing no symptoms and are in good spirits”.On Saturday, 226 tests of residents and staff were conducted. All but three were negative.VIRUS SPREAD FEARS AS MORE PEOPLE HEAD OUTDOORSSaturday marked the halfway point of lockdown, but if you were out and about you’d be forgiven for thinking “what lockdown?”.Warm weather brought crowds of people to parks and beaches around Sydney and the eastern suburbs, with many stretching the limits of the rules.FULL LIST OF Covid ALERT VENUESAnd there are fears more people will be out on Sunday — flooding into shopping centres, parks and beaches — as the sunny weather replaced last week’s rain. This comes as there were 35 new local cases on Saturday, with NSW Health officials still on edge as cases climb. On Saturday at the Dudley Page Reserve in Dover Heights a group of at least 17 people was spotted enjoying a picnic among the walkers and joggers complete with beer and champagne — and not a mask in sight. At Shark Beach and nearby Nielsen Park, people were sunbathing on the sand, sleeping and reading books.Signs on the beach clearly said no stopping was permitted and the beach was only open for exercise, but that didn’t stop eastern suburbs residents from soaking up the sun.In Vaucluse at Hermit Point, a group of girls was spotted working on their tans, with plenty of sunbathers ignoring the lockdown rules. It was a similar story on the Central Coast, with people flocking to Terrigal and crowding the footpaths. Under current rules you are only permitted to leave home to exercise, buy essential items, receive medical care or on compassionate grounds.FULL LIST OF Covid ALERT VENUESSunbathing, having a picnic and reading a book in a park do not count as exercise.Premier Gladys Berejiklian urged people to do the right thing.“Please be sensible,” she said.Police officers were seen patrolling parks and breaking up large crowds.SATURDAY Covid UPDATEHealth Minister Brad Hazzard said people not abiding by the rules will lose the “war” on the Delta strain as 35 cases were recorded on Saturday. “When you are in a war you don’t win it with wacko views and unfortunately we are seeing that with some people who think it’s OK not to wear masks,” he said. “We will only win this war against the virus if people wear masks and follow all the other instructions that we understand will keep us safe. We owe this to ourselves, we owe this to the community more broadly, we owe this to our families.”NSW Covid Exposure SitesThe harsh words came as police arrested yet another cafe owner for not complying with restrictions — this time in Jindabyne — after the explosive arrest of a Bowral cafe owner went viral. Police fined 78 people in the past 24 hours, including three Sydney residents who fled Sydney to visit Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains.More than 350 calls about lockdown breakers were made to Crimestoppers.Premier Gladys Berejiklian said going to the shopping centres was the biggest risk.“Supermarkets aren’t a place to go for recreation — we need to be especially vigilant this weekend — only go to the shops to get what you need, and get in and out,” she said. “If all of us continue to do the right thing we are able to leave the lockdown in a timely way, the next few days will be telling but so far I’m relieved there hasn’t been a huge surge in numbers.“I don’t want to see all our good work ruined today and tomorrow because the weather is great and people are deciding not to follow the orders.”The Premier said she was happy that most of the cases were in isolation, with just nine of the new cases infectious in the community.NAT – Stay Informed – Social Media
