Magda Szubanski and “Egg Boy’’ Will Connolly (who famously cracked an egg on the head of former senator Fraser Anning in 2019) were the special guests at the opening of Babyeggs Cafe in Chesterville Road, Moorabbin, on Wednesday. The cafe, the brainchild of Deniz Memed, will donate 10 per cent from sales in July and August to the Regeneration Foundation of which Szubanski and Connolly are ambassadors. MAGIC MIKE LIVE BIRRARUNG MARRMagic Mike Live is the fun we need after the dour months of Covid restrictions. Magic Mike Live held its official opening night last weekend and it was a resounding hit. The show, which is the brainchild of Hollywood star Channing Tatum, and is based on the hit movie of same name that made Tatum a pin up, is presented in The Arcadia, a two storey Spiegeltent located at Birrarung Marr. A host of Greater Western Sydney players were part of the movie-going crowd along with Scott Pendlebury and son Jax, Sophia Cachia and partner Maddie Garrick, Lee Elliott, and Emmylou Maccarthy with children Camellia and Sage. The film has landed 25 years after the original Space Jam was a surprise hit.
