As the two tribes – Brains V Brawn – prepare for another gruelling Immunity Challenge tonight, McCann said the honeymoon period in the Brains tribe felt like it was coming to an end.“On day one, everyone was very cagey about who they are and what they do, you don’t want to give too much away and be seen as a perceived threat too early in the game,” McCann said.“I think now we’re 10 days’ in … there are three people I trust wholeheartedly: Laura, Andrew and Georgia … but in terms of who’s a threat, I think George is obviously a very quirky bloke, George, King George.“But you can’t underestimate anyone in this game because it’s a game where anything could happen and any advantage could be found at any time so.”With an endurance background that has seen him complete more than 140 marathons, McCann admitted he was shocked to end up in the Brains tribe.“When I first got the call up to say I was in, I think I might have cracked the joke, ‘Oh, I’m in the Brains tribe, surely?’ and they said, ‘Well Joey, you are’,” the North Bondi resident said. “I think the journey of life I’ve been on, I dropped out of college, I did a trade, I was a fitter-machinist in Canberra and then I turned my back on that career took off to the corporate world. “I’ve got the diplomas now, got the degrees, I’ve climbed the corporate ladder and could do this because I’ve focused on the people not on products, solutions and problems.”He said it was these people skills he hoped would take him all the way to the end of Survivor.“Survivor’s not just about who has the biggest IQ, I think EQ is just as important because emotional intelligence in the game of survivor can get you a long way … and I am a people person,” he said. McCann said he was hoping his signature pre-challenge pep talk to rev up his Brains tribemates would see them win immunity tonight.“When we win immunity, we go back to camp, we dive into the Billabong together, we have a good old laugh,” he said. “We’ll go back and eat our rice and lentils and just kick back and enjoy each other’s company and have a good chat around the campfire and kumbaya.“The minute you lose an immunity challenge, it’s on for young and old.
