Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Monday her government was getting on with administering the jab to the 30 per cent of Queenslanders they were responsible for vaccinating, with the federal government responsible for the other 70 per cent.“We’re getting on with that, that Pfizer is going to be coming on fast over the next couple of weeks,” Ms Palaszczuk said.“Do the right thing, you are not only protecting yourself, you are protecting your family and your community.”The centre will be open from 8.30am to 4.30pm seven days a week starting from Wednesday.Only the Pfizer vaccine will be available at the Queensland Health-run hub, with Queenslanders under 40 years of age wanting to get AstraZeneca required to visit their GP.People between 16 and 59 years old can now register on the Queensland Health website to get their vaccine at the mass hub.“Please don’t just turn up, this is not walk ins, you must be registered and you will be contacted by Queensland Health,” Ms Palaszczuk said.“A lot of people will still be going to their GP or pharmacist to get their vaccine.“But we want to see as many people in Queensland vaccinated as quickly and safely as possible.”As an incentive to get vaccinated, Ms Palaszczuk said Queenslanders would be offered free parking at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre when they get their jab.
