New Aussie drama begins filming

Binge, The Foxtel Group and Screen Australia today revealed production has begun on the upcoming Australian series Love Me, which will be produced by Warner Bros. International Television Australia in association with Aquarius Films.A six-part series, Love Me is a story about “modern love experienced by different family members at three distinct times of life”, according to a statement released by Binge.It has begun filming at various locations in Victoria, and is being directed by Australian director Emma Freeman (Stateless, Secret City, Glitch) with lead writer Alison Bell alongside Leon Ford, Adele Vuko and Blake Ayshford.Weaving, 61, who has starred in The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, fronts a diverse cast including Bojana Novakovic (I, Tonya, Birds of Prey), Bob Morley (The 100) and Heather Mitchell (The Unusual Suspects, Palm Beach, Upright).The series, commissioned by The Foxtel Group, has principal production funding from Screen Australia and Film Victoria, and will be produced by Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford (Aquarius Films) and executive produced by Warner Bros’ Michael Brooks and Hamish Lewis.Binge executive director Alison Hurbert-Burns said: “Love Me is a story full of heart, grounded by compelling and relatable characters that Australians will fall in love with.“We are thrilled cameras have begun rolling in Melbourne on this beautifully scripted drama. With our phenomenal cast and brilliant creative team including Polly and Angie from Aquarius Films, we cannot wait for everyone to enjoy it.”Love Me is based on the 2019 Swedish series, ÄLSKA MIG, which was created by Josephine Bornebusch.It’ll be available to stream on Foxtel and Binge.
