The Hit Network presenter started the show back in October 2016 but announced on Monday night’s show that she had decided not to renew her contract for 2022.Speaking to news.com.au about her decision, Ash said: “I always go with my gut. When contract negotiation time came around (last year), I just felt like five years was perfect.”Ash said she was worried she might have made the wrong decision, but those doubts were cast aside just two months later when she found out she was pregnant.“The universe gave me a big tick and said, ‘yep, you’re done babes,’” Ash said. The radio star, who is now 32 weeks pregnant, has just a few weeks left on air before she wraps up her show for good on September 3.As for what listeners can expect from her remaining shows, Ash told news.com.au: “We’re going to finally reveal who is on my banned list. I love my artists and I keep things very positive, but there are a couple of people who have cancelled enough interviews to be banned and we don’t usually talk about it. So I might finally release that list into the world.”As for what the future holds, Ash says she will “definitely be back in the new year, but what that looks like I’m still putting the finishing touches on”.“The glorious thing is I can do whatever I want to do, and I’m really excited about that,” she told news.com.au. “I’ve spent the last 10 years building relationships with artists and labels and these people have gone from my musical heroes to my friends, which is so freaking cool. “I’ll never be able to stay away from the music industry, it’s in my blood, but I guess now I’ll be in a wonderful position where I can truly put my own touch on the content I want to create and put out into the world and really leverage those relationships to do something a little bit different.”Ash also revealed she has a “maternity leave project” which will be released in a few weeks.“I’m actually putting together a 10-part series at the moment speaking to female leaders of industry who have become mums,” she told news.com.au. “There will be international supermodels, politicians. Basically I’ve just tracked down women I love who have chosen to be mums and I’m picking their brains.”Ash also plans to continue her TV career next year and will once again be seen on Channel 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention as one of the panellists.“HYBPA is so much fun!” Ash said. “I’ve worked with Ed Kavalee before and I adore him and the whole Working Dog team are so great. They have been super supportive so I’ll definitely be back.”As Ash London Live comes to an end, we asked the Ash to list some of her most memorable moments from the radio show. Here’s what she came up with.Flying to Paris for a 10 minute interview with Taylor Swift A 60 hour round trip for a 10 minute chat? Only for my queen, Taylor. First of all we miscalculated the Euro to AUD exchange rate and my makeup artist cost $1000. Mortifying. Then we were told the interview wouldn’t be filmed after all … so all that money was spent on my makeup for one photo. Luckily Taylor Swift is the nicest human being alive and it was worth the time in the air (and eye watering make up fee). My producer doing his ‘business’ in Pete Wentz’s houseOn a trip to LA once my producer at the time Tom Whitaker (known then as Draco) and I rocked up at Pete Wentz’s house for an interview. He wasn’t home yet, so his housekeeper let us in and sat us down in his living room. After twenty minutes of awkwardly waiting Tom looked at me and said, “I’m sorry but I can’t hold it in. I’m gonna have to do a shit in Pete Wentz’s guest toilet”. And he did. Crazy places I’ve done interviewsI interviewed Halsey on the phone from a bathtub at 3am in London. We got a last minute slot with Niall Horan while I was in Italy so I did that out the back of an Italian farm house with a goat next to me while still wearing my Qantas pyjamas and no bra. I didn’t realise it was a video call. Ed Sheeran over the yearsIn 2011 when I was a baby in the music world a fresh faced Ed Sheeran walked into our studio. He was a relatively new artist and my boss told me he knew Harry Styles so we should get him in. He was lovely. And so gracious. And randomly offered up a piggyback in lieu of a boring old photo. He then blew up – and we continued the tradition over the years. He is truly one of a kind. French MontanaWe waited for two hours by French Montana’s pool for him to come out for an interview. His assistant kept telling us he was busy in the studio but we could see him through the blinds. Just chillin’. He eventually came out and did the interview in a Versace robe. LA Hotel mishapWe had a 5SOS junket in LA. I am not a great flyer, drank too much on the flight over and the hangover hit before we even landed. I threw up in a potplant at the hotel. Lesson learned. Ash London Live airs weeknights from 7-10pm on the Hit Network
