Two NSW cops test positive, dozens in isolation

It’s the first time front line police are believed to have been contaminated with the virus while working.One officer is believed to have been infected after he was involved in the arrest and charging of male in the eastern suburbs last week.After he was refused bail and sent to prison NSW police were notified by Corrective Services the alleged offender had tested positive.The Daily Telegraph understands more than 30 officers from the station were immediately sent for testing and put into isolation until their results were known.All but three of the officers involved in the arrest were fully vaccinated and three had been given one dose of the vaccination.“”A number of NSW Police Force employees have tested positive to COVID-19 in the course of their duties and are currently isolated at home,’’ a police spokeswoman said today.“All close and casual contacts are being notified and all measures are being taken to ensure strict health and workplace safety guidelines are followed,’’ she said.All the officers, including the infected person, were wearing personal protective equipment.NAT – Stay Informed – Social Media
