One new locally-acquired case was officially recorded on Saturday – a four-year-old girl whose infection was announced on Friday. She is linked to a truck driver who tested positive on Thursday. When Chief health officer Jeannette Young was asked whether lockdown was still a possibility she answered “yes, unfortunately”.She said that they were working to track down close contacts which was “critical”.Dr Young said she was concerned about a close contact visited by the pair earlier this week. She said they had visited the Beenleigh Marketplace shopping centre and a nail salon.“It depends if we find cases who went to the Beenleigh Marketplace and have since then been out infectious in the community in an uncontrolled situation, then that would lead me to think we need to consider a lockdown,” Dr Young said. The man, from Windaroo in Logan, was potentially infectious in the community for up to five days from August 28 to September 1.The four-year-old girl’s childcare centre in Mt Warren Park, Logan went into isolation following her positive test. She attended the Boulevard Early Learning Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday.Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said there was no change to restrictions in Queensland other than in the Logan LGA area.“We are restricting visitors around hospitals, aged care and disability facilities,” she said.
