No new local cases were reported on Monday and the state’s top doctor assuredly said the threat from the cluster originating from a truck driver was easing.A four-year-old girl and her mother, who were both connected to the driver, became infected over the weekend triggering more than 900 families to be directed into quarantine.Chief health officer Jeannette Young said dozens of children linked to the outbreak at both the Windaroo State School and nearby childcare centre had returned negative results except for two children of concern.“Unfortunately, those 900 families will need to remain in quarantine until we get those results and I thank them very much,” she told reporters on Monday morning.“I do hope we are able to work with the family so those two children get tested. “If they get tested and they test negative, they, of course, will have to stay in quarantine because they were at the childcare centre, but it means all those other families who go to the Windaroo State School will be able to be released from quarantine, but not yet.”The Boulevard Early Learning Centre at Mount Warren Park and Windaroo State School have been assigned as close contact venues for all of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.Stylish Nails at the Beenleigh Marketplace (Monday, August 30, 10.30am – 11.45am) and Total Tools (Sunday August 29, 9.20am – 10am) in the same suburb were also added to the close contact alert list.Queensland’s vaccine rollout lags all state and territories with about 53 per cent of the eligible population having received their first jab.And despite the virus threat currently being low in the state, Dr Young implored those who are able to be vaccinated immediately to protect themselves from an inevitable outbreak as the supply of doses is boosted by arrangements with the UK and Singapore.“We do not have an outbreak in Queensland,” she said. “At the moment we don’t have community spread and I hope it remains that way.“Go and find in your area a GP that has Pfizer and book in because they’re about to get very large amounts of the vaccine. So you might be able to get vaccinated this week, but in the next few weeks you definitely will.”
