SAVE $312.49: Normally $1,499.99, Samsung’s 55-inch “The Frame” QLED 4K smart TV (2021) is on sale at Walmart for just $1,187.50 as of Sept. 10 — that’s a 21% savings.
Mounting a big, black rectangle in the middle of a wall is a surefire way to throw off your home decor, and guess what? Television manufacturers know it: TVs that don’t actually look like TVs packed the show floor at CES 2020 (the last time the annual trade show was held in person), as Mashable’s Brenda Stolyar reported.
This is nothing new for Samsung, though: Its “The Frame” line of minimalist 4K TVs that double as digital displays for wall art has been around since 2017. The latest (and thinnest) iteration debuted this past January, and Walmart just so happens to have the 55-inch model on sale in time for this fall’s borderline–unchill TV lineup: You can order it now for only $1,187.50, which is about $312 (or 21%) off its suggested retail price of $1,499.99.
For comparison’s sake, Amazon’s only managed to bring it down to $1,297.99 twice before. (To add to that, there were just two of them left in stock there the last time we checked.)
Gallery-worthy Art Mode aside, The Frame is a truly stunning display in its own right. (You know, when it’s actually being used as a TV.) Samsung has equipped it with Quantum Dot and 16-bit color mapping technologies for vivid, detailed hues, respectively, which are further enhanced with a Quantum Processor 4K that automatically optimizes the TV’s picture and sound to suit any setting. Moral of the story: Your movies and shows won’t look washed out, even at high brightness levels or in a pitch-black room.
When it’s off, you can have The Frame display your personal snapshots or your choice of over 1,400 works from the Art Store (Samsung’s aptly named marketplace of digital artwork and photography); you’ve got the option to purchase individual pieces or subscribe to its full selection of masterpieces for a low monthly fee.
