The self-confessed “fussy eater” lost 8kg while filming and it wasn’t because of the physical aspect of the show.“I couldn’t stomach the food options,” Kenny told The Sunday Telegraph. And despite being the son of one of the original Uncle Toby’s girls — Australian swimmer Lisa Curry — the oats served up was the meal the model was most offended by.“The selection of food I eat isn’t great at the best of times,” Kenny said. “I got to the point where I was eating egg whites for breakfast and a little bit of oats and would have to try and not vomit every mouthful I put in.“I am not an oats fan. “Not their oats anyway. It was just mush. No compliments to the chef.”So ravenous was Kenny by the end of the program, the 27-year-old even succumbed to eating his first banana. “I ate a banana for the first time on the show,” he said. “That was interesting.“I don’t eat seafood and I told them that going in, but then they served seafood for dinner … so I ended up eating a piece of sweet potato.“I have always been a nightmare with food. I guess it was my issue not theirs.”“Mentally and physically I found the show manageable because I am a physical person, but the hardest part of the show for me was the food. I was eating the bare minimum. I just couldn’t get the food down.“Who knows, if I had eaten properly maybe things would have been different.” When asked what he would have preferred, Kenny said McDonald’s would have been his meal of choice.“I used to eat McDonald’s pretty much every single day … I think I have gotten a little better. When you train for three or four hours a day you can pretty much eat anything in moderation.”Despite his constant clashes with fellow castmate Kobe Abberton on the Seven program, Kenny this week went into bat for the controversial surfer, who was copping it from fans of the show. Daily Telegraph – News Feed latest episode“I had enough of the negative comments on Kobe’s page and people telling him he is a bad person for what he said to me on the show,” he said.“I saw people having a go at his family and I just felt the need to comment.“I just said that people need to realise it is a TV show. You don’t need to go out and attack people if you don’t agree with them or something they say.“I know everyone has their own opinions, and Kobe and I aren’t the same. We are polar opposites and we clashed here or there, but we got along in the end.“People just need to calm down.”Got a news tip? Email weekendtele@news.com.auNAT – Stay Informed – Social Media
