Abby Gilmore engaged again after Jake Stringer heartbreak

The couple announced their happy news on Monday night after builder Wellington popped the question on Friday night.“We were meant to be going to Hamilton Island where he had planned to do it but Covid ruined that for us, so he booked Daylesford and did it Friday night as he couldn’t wait any longer he said,’’ Gilmore said.“He designed the ring himself in the city at Jenai Jewellers who specialise in engagement rings on Collins St. Picked it up Tuesday then drove to my dad’s bike shop in Castlemaine straight after to ask his permission and thankfully got the all clear … it was very sweet. Just in our little Airbnb in front of the fireplace.”Gilmore, the ex partner of Essendon star Jake Stringer, shares two daughters, Milla and Arlo with the footballer. She wanted to share the news — “Well of course I said YES” — with them before revealing it publicly. After four years together Gilmore and Wellington have a son named Mason.“I didn’t share it until (Monday) tonight as I wanted to wait til the girls were home so I could tell them first before everyone,’’ Gilmore said.Gilmore and Stringer split in 2016 while he was playing for the Western Bulldogs and cohesively co-parent their children.Stringer and his partner Taylor McVeigh welcomed a son named River last year.
