Positive case at Mulgrave shopping centre

In a Facebook post on Wednesday November 10, the Mulgrave shopping centre said it had been notified of a positive Covid case at Cutters His & Hers Hairdressing. Anyone who visited the salon on November 5 or 6 is advised to get tested and follow government guidelines.The store has closed for a deep clean and is expected to re-open on Sunday, November 14 or Monday, November 15.COVID OUTBREAK AT OAKLEIGH SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOLMore than a dozen Covid cases have been linked to Oakleigh South Primary School, as the state government introduces rapid antigen tests for students.According to state government data, 16 cases have been linked to the Oakleigh South school, one of a number of clusters at educational facilities across the state. The government announced on Monday that rapid antigen tests would be introduced to up to 20 schools affected by coronavirus outbreaks this week, before broader distribution to all schools with students in isolation from November 15.CHADSTONE WORKER TESTS POSITIVEWoolworths has alerted customers that a staff member at its Chadstone store has tested positive to the virus.They last worked on November 1, from 3.02am -8.30am, and November 2, from 2.06pm -12.30am.There has also been 11 cases linked to Campbell Place Aged Care in Glen Waverley.There were 14 new Covid cases recorded in Monash on Monday, with 286 active cases now in the municipality.KMART STAFF MEMBER TESTS POSITIVEA staff member at the Westfield Southland Kmart store has tested positive to Covid.A Kmart spokesperson said the team member had a back of house role so no customers were impacted.“All close contact team members have isolated and returned negative test results,” the spokesperson said.There is no impact to the store’s reopening on Friday.“We look forward to welcoming our customers back in,” the spokesperson said.COVID SCARE AT BANK, TAFEThe BankVic Glen Waverley branch has closed after a Covid scare, while three positive cases have been linked to Holmesglen TAFE’s Moorabbin campus.In a message on its website, BankVic said for the health and safety of the community, it had temporarily closed its Glen Waverley branch to undertake a deep clean after a potential Covid exposure on Thursday, October 21.“We will update our website with further information to confirm reopening details,” the post said.There were 34 new Covid cases in Monash on Wednesday, with 413 active cases now spread across the municipality.Meanwhile Holmesglen TAFE said it had been made aware of three separate positive cases attending its Moorabbin campus on October 12, 13 and 15.“We have reached out directly to all staff, students and visitors who were in that area and deemed primary close contacts,” Holmesglen posted online.“The impacted areas were deep cleaned and Building 3 is open once again.” The positive case attended Building 3 at the Moorabbin campus from 1 – 3pm October 12, 8 -10am October 13, and 1 – 6pm October 15.COVID SCARE AT MACCA’SA Clayton McDonald’s has been declared a Tier 1 site, after a positive case attended the restaurant for four hours.Anyone who went to the McDonald’s Clayton II store, at 1736-1740 Dandenong Rd, from 5am – 9am on October 18 should get tested immediately and quarantine for seven days from exposure if fully vaccinated, or 14 days if not fully vaccinated.It comes after the Woolworths Waverley Gardens store was also declared a Tier 1 site after a staff member tested positive to Covid. According to the supermarket giant, the team member last worked at the Mulgrave shopping centre store from 2.30pm – 8pm on October 15 and from 1.30pm – 7pm on October 16.Anyone who attended the venue between those hours on the 16th should get tested and follow quarantine requirements.POSITIVE CASE AT NIKOS CAKESA staff member at Nikos Cakes Oakleigh has tested positive to Covid.In a post on Instagram last Wednesday, October 13 Nikos Cakes said it had just been notified a member of its Oakleigh team had tested positive to the virus.“If you were present at the store on Saturday (October 16) from 6am -1pm we urge you to get tested,” the post said.“Our Fairfield store has not been impacted.“We are working with DHHS to determine whether we are a Tier 1 or Tier 2 site.“In the meantime we have deemed it necessary to close our store for a deep Covid clean.“All our team members are currently being tested and we will advise when we can reopen.”It comes as health officials reported a high rate of growth in Covid cases across Melbourne’s south east, including Monash.
