The Coolest Boots Right Now Are All Coming From These 10 Brands

OSTN Staff

At this point, we’re nearing the end of the fall, so it feels as though I’ve seen every last pair of boots in existence. That may be an exaggeration, but I have looked at a lot of fall outfits over the last few months while doing research for my Who What Wear stories, so believe me when I say I now have the intel to show for it. Seeing as we’ve been discussing boots and boot trends for a while now, you’re probably well aware that styles like lug-sole boots, rubber wellies, and sleek knee-high boots are what’s trending the most this season. (In case you need a refresher, take a look at our handy trend guide.)

Today, I’m here to talk about boot brands—specifically, the popular boot brands that are behind some of the trendy stompers we’ve been looking at and discussing all season long. Those knee-high lug-sole boots you’ve seen repeatedly on your Instagram feed? Yep, they’re from Gia Borghini. The affordable label editors race to at Nordstrom? Sam Edelman, of course. Continue on to discover the top 10 boot brands that are defining cool style right now and to, of course, shop my favorites from each.

Kicking it off with a fan favorite, Bottega Veneta. No one has been leading the chunky-boot trend quite like Bottega, and this fall, the brand introduced new It shoes: the ankle-height Puddle Boots.

There’s a reason that the editors on our team are collectively obsessing over the boots from Gia Borghini, especially the knee-high lug-sole style seen above. With collaborators like Pernille Teisbaek and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, you know that each pair is already It girl approved.

Larroudé is a relative newcomer on the scene, but the brand has already been making a name for itself with sleek, cool, and ultimately timeless boots, from chunky combat shapes to elevated Western kicks.

I’d be remiss not to call out the affordable OG label here. Sam Edelman has always been our go-to for trendy and wallet-friendly shoes, but the boots this season are especially on point.

You may know Wandler for its stunning handbags, but it would be a shame if you overlooked the Scandi brand’s boots that are equally embedded with the effortless cool-girl feel you know it for.

There are lug-sole boots, and then there are Ganni lug-sole boots. I can’t really explain it, but the Danish brand’s rubber-coated pairs are simply in a category all their own. I particularly love how Scandi girls wear them with delicate, flowy dresses for a cool contrast.

This is your sign to put Alohas on your radar in case it’s not already. For classic yet modern boots that you can wear every day, the brand handmakes its shoes in Spain, so you know they’re the highest quality. Yet they’re easily available to shop on sites like Revolve.

Franco Sarto is my secret (now not-so-secret) source for affordable and comfortable boots. When I shop at sites like Nordstrom, I always make a point to look at the brand’s assortment of affordable shoe trends.

The boots celebs such as Emily Ratajkowski and Chrissy Teigen are fans of? The Schutz Maryana Boots, of course. The label’s sleek heeled boots are some of my favorites if you’re looking for something to level up all your fall and winter outfits or the perfect pair of going-out boots.

I’ve recently spotted this brand pop up when I’m scrolling through Shopbop, and I’ve definitely taken note. Look here for on-trend boots that could be designer but with half the markup.

Up next, check out the boot trend everyone is (actually) wearing right now.
