Saturday’s figures are slightly lower from Friday when there were 1273 cases and eight deaths But they are still higher than Thursday when there were 1007 new infections. The proportion of people aged 12 and older who are fully vaccinated now stands at 89 per cent.The number of people in intensive care stood at 55, including 24 on a ventilator.It comes as Victoria eased a number of restrictions on Friday, with density limits for hospitality, concerts and events scrapped for fully vaccinated attendees.The new freedoms now mean the state have fewer restrictions than NSW.
