The Herald Sun reports former The Footy Show star Newman hosted friends including Mannix, sports agent Ricky Nixon, AFL legend Warwick Capper and aerobics champ Sue Stanley for a get-together on the yacht – which then encountered turbulent weather.Mannix banged his nose on the step of the 66-foot yacht, appropriately named Angst. But he insisted the injury wasn’t a result of too much partying on the high seas. “It got really rocky but I wasn’t drunk, I just want to clear that up,’’ Mannix told the Sun.“The doctors say it’s not broken, just an impact injury. It was a great day and I just came away a bit banged up.”Newman described the conditions in Melbourne’s Port Philip Bay, where the boat was anchored near Beaumauris, as “absolutely feral … a very hazardous experience.”Mannix, 60, is best known as the frontman of Australian rock band Uncanny X-Men, who released two top 20 albums and enjoyed a string of hit singles in the mid-80s. He’s also appeared as an actor in shows like Neighbours, Blue Heelers and Last Man Standing.
